Adrienne Parker - A Profile

Picture
I was born in SA during the seventies and enjoyed a colourful, energetic childhood. I have always been passionate about painting and drawing and have found plenty of stimulating subjects around me to observe and illustrate over the years.

After studying Graphic Design in Durban for 3 years, I worked as a Graphic Artist for various agencies in South Africa. I finally moved to the UK in 1997 and have enjoyed many adventures since. My career has been exciting and versatile and, having learnt a great deal in the advertising world, I started giving painting and drawing lessons 22  years ago.

I am particularly pleased to have taken this path as it has been very rewarding on many levels, and especially as I am able to work with many enthusiastic and interesting people. It has influenced my painting and drawing style a great deal which I love to communicate to my students.

My working life consists of running adult art classes and workshops, as well as demonstrating for local art groups and societies which include:
                Tatsfield Art Group (tutor)
                Jackson’s Art Group (Whyteleafe)
                Epsom Art Group
                Tandridge Art Society
                Kingswood Art Group
                Knockholt Art Group
                Oxted Art Group
                Battle & District Art Group
                Arundel Art Group
                Old Coulsdon Art Group
East Horsley & Clandon Art Society

        Croydon Art Society
        Farleigh Art Group
        Sevenoaks Art Group
        West Wickham Art Group
        Spectrum Art Group (Reigate)
        Orpington Art Group
        Westerham Art Group
        Arun Art Group
        North Weald Art Group
       Jubilee Art Group
       Leatherhead Art Society
       Sidcup Art Group

Private commissions contribute to my portfolio, which I thoroughly enjoy as I am adaptable and work well to a brief. I enjoy painting both outdoors and in my studio, of which I am able to do a good deal more, as I live partly in France.

My first solo exhibition took place at Fairfield Hall in 2004. I sell my paintings privately and through the London Art Society. I am looking forward to many more exciting and rewarding artistic challenges.
